About Slymedia
Jeff Sly has spent 25 years in the broadcast media industry.
He has worked as a radio journalist in Adelaide, and a regional television reporter in both Mount Gambier and Ballarat.
He was Chief of Staff and Victorian News Manager at WIN Television in Victoria for fourteen years at a time during which WIN dominated the regional news ratings.
He was directly responsible for the training of network journalists and broadcasters, including the 9 Network’s Tom Steinfort, Laura Turner and Clint Stanaway, the 7 Network’s Sean Sowerby and Kate Jones, Network Ten’s Katherine Firkin and Ted O‘Connor as well as the ABC’s Erin Vincent, Al Jazeera’s Soraya Lennie and France 24’s Mairead Dundas.
He has advised the Liberal Party, the ALP and the Victorian Nationals on regional media strategy.
He understands the restraints and advantages of regional media like few others, and has close working relationships with journalists at The Courier, The Geelong Advertiser, ABC Ballarat and South West Victoria, 3BA/Power FM, WIN Television and the new 9 Regional News.
He has worked with extremely successful Ballarat businesses to improve their social media profile, principally through Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. The results have increased both profile and business turnover.
He has worked with sporting groups and businesses to increase the profile of their sponsorship, coordinating media exposure for key events.
And he’s presented to clubs in AFL Victoria as well as aspiring athletes and business figures about fronting the media and crafting their message.

Live Streaming
Slymedia is the preferred supplier of live streaming services to the Ballarat Miners and Ballarat Rush basketball teams in the SEABL.
In 2017, Slymedia also pulled together a team to broadcast the national finals of the SEABL.
Our team did an incredible job of bringing these exciting games into the homes and onto the mobile devices of basketball fans across the globe.
We had Director Marcus Jones and camera operators Rob Tremelling, Michael Watson and Matt McKinley.
And in front of the camera we had commentators Stephen Blackley, Paul Flynn and Kasey Cornwell with Jeff Sly anchoring the coverage.
Looking Forward
In late November 2017 Slymedia will live stream the final of the Ballarat Netball Association’s Premier League competition, The Athlete’s Foot Cup.
It will be the first time the final of this important competition has been broadcast live to the public.
We are always looking for opportunities to quote for the provision of live streaming for your sporting event.
